Paige Wright is one of four exclusive bankruptcy attorneys at the Licata Bankruptcy Firm. She has practiced with the Licata Bankruptcy Firm since 2013. Paige attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, where she received a Bachelor’s in Institutions & Policy and Political Science. While in college, Paige spent a year studying in Oxford, England. She attended law school at the University of Missouri—Columbia, where she graduated with honors.
During law school, Paige was actively involved in legal clinics that represented low-income families in landlord/tenant and family violence issues. Additionally, she provided pro bono assistance through Mid-Missouri Legal Services.
Today, Paige continues her pro bono work by assisting individuals referred to her through Legal Services of Southern Missouri’s Judicare program and takes pride in helping those who would otherwise be unable to afford the legal help they need.
After law school, Paige spent one year working at another law firm in Springfield, where she handled a variety of matters, including municipal, real estate, domestic law, and bankruptcy. It was during this year that Paige discovered that she enjoyed the practice of bankruptcy and focused her skills in this area. Since then, she has become an experienced Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy attorney in Springfield Missouri. Paige has filed more than six hundred Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies and has significantly contributed to the development of bankruptcy law.
In 2012-2013, Paige served on a Missouri Bar committee and researched additional protections for life insurance proceeds that are received when people are in bankruptcy. The legislation proposed by the committee became law two years later. In 2014, she argued a case that increased the protections for firearms. Now, most individuals that file for bankruptcy relief are not at risk of having their guns taken and sold to pay back debts.
Two years later, Paige was successful in arguing a case that increased the protections for child support getting paid to a custodial parent. In 2017, Paige was chosen as one of 40 bankruptcy practitioners nationwide to be a member of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judge’s Next Generation Program.
In her free time, Paige enjoys spending her time at Stockton Lake. She is a Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan and enjoys going to football and baseball games with her dad. Paige also enjoys traveling with her family and someday hopes to have visited every national park in the United States.
